PINC Program for Women

Back In Motion is proud to be Dunedin's only provider of ‘PINC’ a cancer rehab
program that supports women with cancer.

Subsidised Specialist Physio Care Following Cancer Treatment

The PINC Cancer Rehabilitation Program is dedicated to improving the strength, quality of life and sense of well-being of women diagnosed with cancer.

Cancer rehabilitation and exercise can reduce side effects of the disease and cancer treatments, and can improve functional ability and quality of life. The PINC Program provided by Back in Motion offers a full range of therapeutic and rehabilitative services designed to look after you following surgery and cancer treatments.

Delivered by certified PINC Cancer Rehab Physiotherapists with specialist training in cancer rehabilitation, our team is here to support, motivate and encourage you, while offering the best care and professional advice.

Physiotherapy following cancer surgery is important for reducing pain and regaining full function of the affected area. Our role is to also illustrate the benefits of exercise in reducing cancer recurrence and for each woman’s overall well being.

The PINC Pilates Physiotherapy Programme incorporates:

  • manual therapy for joints and soft tissue
  • identification of any musculoskeletal issues
  • advice and education regarding cancer fatigue management and lymphodema care
  • massage
  • strength and conditioning exercises

We are proud to bring this unique and beneficial programme to Dunedin and have been inspired by the women that have undertaken this programme with us.

This is a privately funded health programme. The PINC Pilates Trust is dedicated to fundraising for the PINC Program and is proud to be able to provide subsidised rates for all women presenting  witha  diagnosis of cancer. Back in Motion is actively involved with fundraising at a local level.
