Massage
Maria Gamble
- Nat Dip Massage Therapy 2007
- Registered with Massage NZ
I joined the team at Back in Motion (BIM) in March 2009 and work in the Albany St clinic.
My passion for massage drove me to obtain a formal qualification once my youngest daughter started school. I love that massage is a gentle non invasive form of therapy which can achieve great results.
I am married to Tony and with him own our successful Forest Harvesting Business. We have two beautiful daughters who keep me very busy and well grounded. As well as being a busy Wife, Mum and Business Owner I enjoy being active by running, cycling, yoga, canoe polo and also compete in some multisport events.
Being such an active person makes me appreciate how the body functions and the frustrations associated with niggles and injuries.
I use different Massage techniques in a variety of situations including Relaxation, Sports Recovery and Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention.
It’s great working with the support of the Physios and Pilates instructors. Working together we are able to meet the needs of practically anyone.
If you are unsure if massage is for you, call me to spell out in more detail what we do and how we do it.
Maria uses:
- Myofascial Release, a gentle technique for pain relief, increasing range of motion and it works well for altering posture
- sports massage, which is really for treating problems stemming from movement,
- Trigger Point Therapy for releasing the tension in muscle ‘knots’.
- Relaxation Massage.
Maria attends the NZ Massage Association Conferences and workshops to continue her professional development and learn more therapeutic techniques and absorbing the latest research. Maria has a National Diploma of Therapeutic Massage and a Diploma in Massage Therapy.
Maria is available at the Albany Street Clinic, Thursdays 9.30-4pm.
