Background of BIM Perform®

BIM Perform® comprises of a range of services including:

  • Movement analysis screening
  • Prescription and administration of corrective exercises
  • Education of optimal pre and post game musculoskeletal management
  • Individualised BIM Perform® Programme

The risk of injury and subsequent poor individual performance and impact on the team performance is well known, but measures to address this has been hard to organize and difficult to implement in such an important stage of young athletes development.

Physiotherapists can provide expert knowledge of the complex relationship between movement and the human musculoskeletal system. This understanding enables the identification of movement dysfunction in athletes and subsequent prescription of corrective exercises to reduce the risk of injury and improve performance.

Back In Motion would like to provide an injury prevention and performance programme for athletes. This service would consist of movement assessment and analysis followed by individual prescription of specific exercises. The aim is to build a stable base from which the body may produce effective and safe movement patterns. By abolishing faulty movement patterns it reduces repetitive microtrauma to soft tissue and joint structures which results in ‘wear and tear’ injuries.

Strengthening the body's stabilising muscles also provides an optimal framework for future physical conditioning programmes. This is crucial for young developing athletes with limited training experience. Back In Motion would be happy to work in conjunction with fitness conditioning specialists in order to provide the best service for your students.

In addition, Back in Motion is also able to offer a thorough musculoskeletal assessment BIM assess® (Based on the same principles as academy of sport and other internationally recognized specific assessment procedures) and personalised designed programme. This ‘BIM Perform Programme’ utilises state of the art Pilates equipment to enhance the athletes’ overall performance and core stability. The individualised BIM Perform Programme involves one-on-one supervision from qualified therapists and fitness trainers. Further information regarding this programme and pricing options are available from the Albany Street clinic.
